Re-issue of a South African Identity Document

The following documents must be forwarded (original form) to the Department of Home Affairs, Pretoria, via the Embassy in Muscat:
• BI-10 - Re-issue of South African Identity document
• BI-9 - Application for an Identity document
• BI-529 - Determination of citizenship status
• Copy of old Identity document - if available
• 4 x identical passport size photographs (click here for details)

Notes on BI-10 and BI-9:
Both the application for re-issue of a South African Identity document and fingerprint form must be completed at the Embassy.

Notes on BI-529:
Personal particulars of applicant must be entered in sections A & B, and the parents of the applicant must complete sections C & D.

Fees: Are subject to change and applicants should check with the Embassy when they apply.

It takes about two (2) months plus to process.
