Registration of South African Death
| |
Obtain
the official death certificate or other similar
document issued by the authority concerned. If
the certificate is in English an Arabic translation
will be required. |
| |
An
authorised officer at the Mission would complete
the death register. |
| |
The
official death and the original death register
is submitted to the Director-General of the Department
of Home Affairs, Pretoria. |
| |
A
proof of notice of death is then issued to the
informant. |
The Director General should register the death once
the documents mentioned above have been received by
Head Office. He would also issue a death certificate
and submit the certificate to the informant. The first
issue of a death certificate is free of charge.
